After debuting the A6 Avant last month, Audi has taken the wraps off its new A6 sedan. The Audi A6 sedan is larger than its predecessor and is the most aerodynamic ICE car produced by the automaker so far. The sedan also features updated tech specs and is underpinned by Volkswagen’s Premium Platform Combustion (PPC). It is available in 3 powertrains.

Audi A6 sedan: Everything you need to know

The Audi A6 sedan is 4.99 metres long, which makes it 6cm longer than its predecessor. It is 1.88 metres wide and has a 2,927mm wheelbase. The sedan has a 0.23 drag coefficient. This makes it the most aerodynamic Audi offering yet. The A6 Avant and e-tron have drag coefficients of 0.25 and 0.21, respectively.

The Audi A6 sedan shares most of its design elements with the A6 Avant. Its front fascia is dominated by a wide, low-positioned, honeycomb Singleframe grille. Flanking the grille on either side are sleek LED headlamps. The 3D-modelled air curtains are placed on the bumper, just below the headlamps. The sedan rests on 20-inch alloy wheels, with the option of 18-inch and 23-inch alloys available to buyers. At the back, the sedan gets a steel tailgate and a vertical brake light spanning the width of the SUV.

Inside, the Audi A6 sedan looks identical to the A6 Avant. It rocks a 14.5-inch curved touchscreen infotainment system, an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 10.9-inch passenger display. The infotainment system is integrated with ChatGPT and also runs the Audi assistant. Other features of the sedan include a 16-speaker Bang and Olufsen audio system with a 685W output, ambient lighting with 84 LEDs, 4-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and more.

The Audi A6 sedan is available in 3 mild-hybrid powertrain options. The 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine generates a maximum power output of 204hp and 340Nm of torque. The 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine puts out 204hp and 400Nm. Finally, the 3.0-litre turbo-petrol V6 engine generates 367hp and 550Nm. All three engines are mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine is available with front-wheel drive only.

Audi has started accepting orders for the A6 sedan. Its delivery rollout process will begin in summer 2025. Prices for the sedan start at € 55,000 (~Rs 53,53 lakh). It will be launched in India in the coming months. Upon launch, the Audi A6 sedan will rival the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E Class.
