Kinetic DX EV: Everything you need to know

Here are the prices for both variants of the Kinetic DX EV.

Variants Price
DX Rs 1,11,499
DX+ Rs 1,17,499

The Kinetic DX EV is a modern take on the classic DX from the 90s. Its handlebar design, LED headlamp, and turn indicators are heavily inspired by the old school scooter. The Kinetic lettering on the flyscreen is illuminated. The DX EV rests on 12-inch wheels. Its plastic body has some metal panels. The seat is 704mm long. The electric scooter clears the ground at 165mm and has a 1,314mm wheelbase.

The 8.8-inch colour LCD panel takes design inspiration from the instrument cluster of the original DX model. The red ‘READY’ starter button is also a throwback to the Kinetic scooters from the 90s. There is a built-in speaker in the scooter. Riders can play music on the scooter as well as control the volume of the audio output. Other features include keyless ignition, ‘Easy Key’ system, helpline call button, USB charging, regenerative braking, and ‘Easy Flip’. The Easy Key system allows the rider access to the scooter using a password, while Easy Flip unfolds the footrest with the press of a button.

The DX+ variant gets app support, which unlocks features like geofencing, location tracking, anti-theft alert, guide-me-home lights, and OTA updates. The scooter can also wish you ‘Happy Birthday’ in 16 languages. The vanilla variant supports smartphone connectivity through Bluetooth.

The Kinetic DX EV is powered by a single electric motor mounted on the hub. It generates a maximum power output of 6.4hp. The 2.6kWh battery pack can deliver a driving range of 102km on the base model. Its top speed is capped at 80km/h. The DX+ variant uses the same battery pack but offers a driving range of 116km and a top speed of 90km/h. With the cruise lock in place, the driving range of the scooter can be pushed to 150km/h. There are 3 riding modes on offer – Range, Power, and Turbo.

The charger is stacked away in the glove box and has a 15A plug attached to it. It can charge the battery pack from 0-50% in 2 hours. An 80% charge takes 3 hours to achieve, while a full charge takes 4 hours.
