Nissan Motor India announces fresh price hikes for 2026

Nissan Motor India has announced that it will raise prices across its catalogue next year. As of now, the automaker’s portfolio in India comprises just one offering – Nissan Magnite. It has two new launches planned for 2026, followed by another in 2027. The price of these models will be adjusted accordingly. Nissan has attributed this hike to a rise in input costs.

Nissan Motor India: 3% price hike after recent GST cuts

Nissan Magnite, the only offering from the automaker in India, is currently priced between Rs 5.62 lakh and Rs 10.76 lakh. Depending on the variant, its prices will be hiked by up to 3%. Post price hike, its prices could start at Rs 5.79 lakh and go up to Rs 11.08 lakh. The new prices will come into effect on January 1, 2026. Back in September, Nissan slashed the prices for the SUV by up to Rs 1 lakh, following the revisions in GST rates. The top-spec Tekna+ Turbo CVT variant got the biggest decrement.

Nissan Magnite

Nissan has exciting things planned for the Indian market in 2026. It’ll kick off the proceedings with the launch of its brand new 7-seater B-MPV, Gravite. This will be followed by the introduction of the Creta-rivalling Nissan Tektone in mid-2026. A 7-seater C-SUV based on the Tekton will be launched in 2027. Nissan’s midsize SUV will share its platform and powertrain with the new Duster.

Nissan Gravite

The Duster comes in 3 engine options in international markets – 1.0L petrol, 1.2L petrol hybrid, and 1.3L turbo petrol. The 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine is offered with the entry-level variants of the SUV. It produces a maximum power output of 120hp. Meanwhile, the other two engines produce 140hp and 170hp, respectively. The hybrid powertrain gets regenerative braking and a 1.2kWh battery pack. Nissan and Renault will likely use the 1-litre petrol engine for their midsize SUV offerings in India.

Meanwhile, the Gravite will share its powertrain with the Renault Triber. The 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine will generate a maximum power output of 72hp and 96Nm of torque. Buyers will be able to choose between a 5-speed manual or automatic gearbox. A CNG powertrain will be added later on.

Final Thoughts

Nissan is not the only automaker to increase its prices in 2026. Earlier this month, Mercedes-Benz, MG Motor, and BYD also announced fresh price hikes that will come into effect next year. More automakers are expected to join this list in the coming days.
