The 1.5-litre 4-cylinder Hyperion turbo petrol engine generates a maximum power output of 170hp and 280Nm of torque on the Tata Safari and Harrier. The diesel engine powering the two SUVs produces the same output. The turbo-petrol engine can be mated to a 6-speed manual or torque converter gearbox. Meanwhile, on the Sierra, this engine produces a maximum power output of 158hp and 255Nm of torque.
The new ‘Fearless Ultra’ trim of the Tata Safari and Harrier features a Samsung-sourced 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an IVRM, Dolby Atmos support, fast Type-C charging (65W), a built-in dashcam, a wash function for the reversing cameras, and a memory function for the OVRMs. The two SUVs get different interior colour themes. While the Safari comes with a white and gold colour scheme for the cabin, the Harrier flaunts a white and brown theme.
Mr Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited, said, “With over 2.5 lakh Harrier and Safaris in the market, these two SUVs have long embodied Tata Motors PVs’ legacy of design, performance and safety. The all-new 1.5L HYPERION Turbo-GDi Petrol engine goes ahead and further elevates these market-leading attributes. The Harrier has always been an iconic SUV defined by its dynamic stance and bold individualism, which is now enhanced by HYPERION’s unmatched Power and upmarket driving experience. On the other hand, the Safari has made its place in the industry as a sought-after and prestigious high SUV with a strong legacy, which is now bolstered by HYPERION’s serene, silent, and tech-rich performance.
This HyperEfficient powertrain delivers best-in-segment fuel efficiency, unmatched performance, premium refinement and smoothness, perfectly complementing the SUVs’ bold design and advanced innovation, along with segment-best in-cabin technology. Together, the Harrier and Safari Petrol are crafted for the modern Indian customer, one who values intelligence as much as indulgence.”
