MG Windsor EV launched in India at a starting price of Rs 9.99 lakh

MG Motor India has launched the Windsor EV at a starting price of Rs 9.99 lakh. The Windsor joins the Comet and ZS EVs in MG Motor’s all-electric portfolio in India. The crossover EV is available in three trims – Excite, Exclusive, and Essence. MG Windsor is the first EV from the automaker to adopt the ‘Battery-as-a-Service’ (BaaS) model. This means that the buyers will need to rent the battery pack for Rs 3.5 per kilometer. MG Motor claims this reduces the cost of acquisition for the buyer. The automaker will also offer the option to buy the battery pack, although that will cost an additional amount.
