JSW MG Motor India has announced a price hike of up to 2% across its portfolio. The new prices will come into effect on January 1, 2026. The price hike will not be uniform; it will vary among different models and variants. The automaker says that the price hike is caused by “rising input costs and other macroeconomic factors”. The updated prices for individual cars are not known yet. The new prices will be announced next year.

Going by the announced 2% rate, the Windsor EV, MG’s most popular offering in India, could become dearer by Rs 30,000. Prices for its top-spec variant could increase by Rs 37,000. As of now, the entry-level variant of the EV costs Rs 14.27 lakh, while the top-spec trim fetches Rs 18.76 lakh. The Comet EV, MG’s most affordable car in India, could get a price hike between Rs 10,000 and Rs 20,000, depending on the variant. Its current prices start at Rs 7.64 lakh and go up to Rs 10.19 lakh.
MG Motor currently commands a 35% EV market share in India, closely trailing behind Tata Motors. The automaker crossed the 1 lakh EV sales landmark earlier this year. Its most popular all-electric offering, Windsor EV, has sold over 50,000 units since its launch, making up half of the automaker’s EV sales. One of the major reasons behind MG Motor’s popularity in the EV market is its Battery as a Service (BaaS) model. This model brings down the prices of the EV by introducing a per-km subscription service for the battery pack.
On the other hand, MG Motor’s ICE sales experienced a notable decline this year. The automaker sold 4,400 units in November 2025, recording a 15.95% Year-on-Year (YoY) decline. In October, the YoY decline was recorded at 18.82%, with 3,693 units sold.
The automaker launched the facelifted version of the Hector SUV recently. The updated SUV will likely lead to a boost in sales. The facelift model flaunts a new honeycomb design for the grille. It rests on new 18-inch alloy wheels. The LED tail lamps are connected by a light bar. Inside, it gets a dual-tone Ice Grey colour theme for the cabin. The Hector Plus gets tan interiors. The SUV has retained its 14-inch portrait-style touchscreen infotainment system. Other features include an air filter, push-button start/stop, a powered driver’s seat, a panoramic sunroof, and more.
The MG Hector comes in 2 engine options. The E20-compliant 1.5-litre petrol engine generates a maximum power output of 142hp and 250Nm. Meanwhile, the 2.0-litre diesel engine generates a maximum power output of 168hp and 350Nm of torque. Both engines can be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The petrol engine is also available with a CVT automatic transmission.
