Maruti Suzuki Victoris launched in India at Rs 10.50 lakh

Maruti Suzuki has added a new midsize SUV to its portfolio. Exclusively retailed through the Arena dealerships, prices for the Maruti Suzuki Victoris start at Rs 10.50 lakh. It is available in 6 trim levels – LXi, VXi, ZXi, ZXi(O), ZXi+, and ZXi+ (O). The top-spec variant fetches Rs 19.99 lakh. Bookings for the SUV were opened earlier this month. Buyers can reserve their model for a token amount of Rs 11,000.

The Maruti Suzuki Victoris stands at dimensions of 4,360mm x 1,795mm x 1,655mm and has a 2,600mm wheelbase. Its front fascia is highlighted by segmented LED DRLs and projector LED headlamps. The DRLs are connected by a sleek light bar running across the bonnet. The profile of the SUV is sharp and chiselled. It rests on 17-inch alloy wheels and has squared-off body cladding. The pillars are blacked out, and the roof rails sport a silver finish. At the back, the wraparound LED tail lamps are connected by a light bar.

Inside, the Maruti Suzuki Victoris flaunts an opulent 3-layer dashboard design. The interior has a black and ivory colour theme. The textured seat upholstery has piano black highlights. The SUV packs a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster has multiple display modes. Other features include an 8-speaker audio system with Dolby Atmos support, automatic climate control, 64-colour ambient lighting, an 8-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, Heads-Up Display, a panoramic sunroof, an air purifier, connected car tech, wireless charging, and more.

On the safety front, the Victoris SUV packs 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, hill hold control, brake assist, ISOFIX anchorages, and traction control as standard features. Higher variants are equipped with a 360-degree camera and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). The SUV has received a 5-star safety rating from Bharat NCAP and Global NCAP.

The Victoris is the first Maruti offering to come with a Level 2 ADAS suite. This package contains features like Automatic Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control with Curve Speed Reduction, Lane Keep Assist, High Beam Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Monitor with Lane Change Alert, and more.

The Victoris borrows its powertrain from the Grand Vitara. The 1.5-litre K15C petrol engine with mild hybrid technology generates a maximum power output of 103hp and 137Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the 1.5-litre TNGA petrol engine from Toyota with a strong hybrid system puts out 115hp and 137Nm. The CNG engine puts out 89hp. The mild hybrid variants have a fuel economy of 21.18km/l and 21.06km/l with manual and automatic transmissions, respectively. With AWD onboard, this number drops to 19.07km/l. The strong hybrid variants offer a mileage of 28.65km/l. Lastly, the CNG variants have a mileage of 27.02km/kg.

Final Thoughts

The Victoris is available in 3 dual-tone and 7 monotone colour options. This includes 2 new paint shades – Mystic Green and Eternal Blue. There is an exclusive Raffiné package available with the SUV as well. It makes some styling changes to the interior and exterior of the SUV. The Victoris rivals the Hyundai CretaKia SeltosCitroen AircrossMG Astor, and other midsize and compact SUVs.
