Maruti Suzuki eVX to make its debut at Bharat Mobility Expo 2025

Maruti Suzuki’s debut EV has been in the works for a couple of years. The concept model of the Maruti Suzuki eVX was first showcased at Auto Expo 2023. Since then, the electric SUV has been spotted testing multiple times in India and Europe. It has now been confirmed that the production-spec model of the EV will make its debut at the Bharat Mobility Expo in January 2025.

Maruti Suzuki eVX: What to expect?

In terms of design, the production-spec Maruti Suzuki eVX will not be radically different from its concept version. Up front, the SUV will sport a flat nose and edgy LED headlamps. Being an EV, its grille will be completely closed off. The profile of the SUV gives off a coupe-like look, mostly due to its sloping roofline towards the rear. The door handles are placed on the C-pillar instead of their traditional position.

Inside, the Maruti Suzuki eVX will get a dual-screen setup for the infotainment system and the digital instrument cluster. The two-spoke steering will be integrated with physical buttons for media and climate control. The rotary dial will be housed in the floating centre console. The SUV is expected to get a 360-degree camera and an ADAS package.

The Maruti Suzuki eVX will be underpinned by a completely new platform. This platform will be used in future Maruti Suzuki EVs as well. The battery and engine specs of the electric SUV are currently unknown. Sources report that the eVX will come with a 60kWh that will offer a driving range of 550km. Maruti may also offer a smaller battery pack for the entry-level variants.

Conclusion

Maruti Suzuki eVX will be made in India and exported to foreign markets in Europe and Japan. Maruti has also confirmed that it will prioritise overseas sales over the domestic market. The SUV will likely launch in Europe in March. This will be followed by a launch in its home territory. In India, the Maruti Suzuki eVX will rival the Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra XUV400, and MG ZS EV.
