Maruti Suzuki: Expanding non-urban presence with 200 Nexa Studio outlets

Nexa Studio is Maruti’s line of micro outlets designed for non-urban areas, including Tier 2/Tier 3 cities. These studios act as a one-stop destination for sales, service, and spare parts. Maruti’s current Nexa portfolio comprises 9 cars – e Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, Grand Vitara, XL6, Ciaz, Fronx, Baleno, and Ignis. Meanwhile, the Arena lineup comprises mass market offerings like Victoris, Ertiga, Brezza, Dzire, Swift, Eeco, Wagon R, Celerio, Alto K10, and S Presso.

Maruti’s maiden EV, e Vitara, is the most recent addition to the Nexa lineup. It comes in 2 battery pack options – 49kWh and 61kWh. The entry-level Delta variant comes exclusively with the smaller battery pack. All three trims are powered by a front-mounted electric motor. The 49kWh variants generate a maximum power output of 144hp and can go up to 440km on a full charge. Meanwhile, the 61kWh variants put out 174hp and have a 543km driving range. The torque produced is identical for all variants – 189Nm.

In terms of features, it packs a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display. There is support for wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features include ambient lighting, ventilated front seating, a 10-way powered driver’s seat, sliding and reclining functions for rear seats, a glass sunroof, an Infinity sound system, and more.

Mr Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “NEXA stands for innovation, design, and premium ownership experience. The rapid expansion of NEXA Studios demonstrates our commitment to make this experience accessible to our aspirational customers in semi-urban areas. There is a growing segment of customers in these areas who are desirous of a premium car buying experience. To cater to their needs, we are happy to expand our NEXA footprint to such locations. We are thankful to our dealer partners and customers for their trust and enthusiasm that continue to drive NEXA’s growth story. With their support, we aim to take the total number of NEXA Studio outlets to 600, by the end of FY 2030-31.”
