The new teaser dropped by Mahindra gives a brief glimpse of the XEV 9S’ interior. It reveals the three row seating layout. The automaker has confirmed that the middle row will have sliding function to give passengers access to the third row. The electric SUV will seat 7 people.
The XEV 9S is a ‘Born Electric’ SUV. This means that unline re-engineered ICE vehicles, it is underpinned by Mahindra’s INGLO skateboard architecture that’s especially designed for EVs. The flat-floor design allows lots of room for the cabin space and enables functionalities like sliding second row seats. It also brings down the centre of gravity, ensuring smoother and more comfortable rides.
Apart from the added third row, the interior of the XEV 9S will be similar to the XEV 9e. It will feature a triple-screen setup for the infotainment system and the digital instrument cluster. Other features like Level 2 ADAS, Heads Up Display, Harmon Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos, Multi-Drive Modes, 360-degree camera, and more are also expected to make the cut.

Both variants are powered by a single electric motor mounted on the rear axle. The former produces a maximum power output of 231hp and 380Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the 79kWh variants put out 286hp and 380Nm. It remains to be seen whether Mahindra will introduce an AWD configuration on the XEV 9S.
