Jeep Wrangler Willys ‘41 Edition: What was so special about it?

The Willys ‘41 Edition was based on the top-spec Rubicon trim of the Jeep Wrangler SUV. It took design inspiration from the Willys Jeep and donned the ‘41 Green’ paint shade. The hood had a large 1941 decal on top of it. The special edition SUV was also made available in white, red, black, and grey paint shades. Other than the decals and paint shades, no cosmetic changes were made on the Willys ‘41 Edition.

Jeep also offered special accessories with the Willys ‘41 Edition. These included power side steps, grab handles, floor mats, and front & rear dashcams. The automaker also offered a Sunrider rooftop and a side ladder with a roof carrier for the special edition SUV at a premium of Rs 4.65 lakh. Other features included a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and the automaker’s new Uconnect 5 OS and support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Jeep’s new OS offers the Trails Offroad guide, which has 62 off-road trails integrated into the infotainment system. The central air vents sit just below the infotainment touchscreen.

The Jeep Wrangler Willys ‘41 Edition retained the powertrain of the regular model. The 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 270hp and 400Nm of torque. It is paired with an 8-speed torque converter gearbox. There is AWD configuration onboard.

Mr Kumar Priyesh, Business Head & Director – Automotive Brands, said, “We are humbled and grateful for the enthusiastic response to the Wrangler Willys Limited Edition. The fact that it is now completely sold out reflects the deep love and trust our customers have in the Jeep brand. We thank our Jeep community for their support and passion, which continues to inspire us to bring them authentic, adventure-ready vehicles that honor our legacy.”
