Citroen C3X launched in India at Rs 7.91 lakh

Citroen India has launched the C3X as a part of its ‘Shift Into the New’ strategy. Prices for the Citroen C3X start at Rs 7.91 lakh and go up to Rs 9.90 lakh. The new hatchback gets 15 new features over the standard model. Prices for the standard lineup have been slashed by up to Rs 1.29 lakh. Its prices now start at Rs 5.25 lakh.

The Citroen C3X is available in a new ‘Garnet Red’ paint shade. This shade, along with Cosmo Blue, is available in monotone and dual-tone colour themes. Other colour options include Polar White, Steel Grey, and Perla Nera Black. The hatchback gets special ‘C3X’ badging. Other than that, no other cosmetic changes have been made to the C3X.

Inside, the Citroen C3X gets new features like keyless entry, push-button start, and auto-dimming IVRM. Buyers can also opt for a 360-degree camera by paying a premium of Rs 25,000. Cruise control is only available on the top-spec C3X Shine Turbo AT variant. The dashboard gets a leatherette finish.

Things remain the same under the hood as the Citroen C3X continues to be offered in the same 2 powertrain options as the Shine variant that it’s replacing in the hatchback’s lineup. The 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 81hp and 115Nm of torque. The 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine churns out 109hp and 190Nm. Both engines can be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The turbo-petrol engine also gets the option of a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

Final Thoughts

Citroen is currently accepting bookings for the new C3X. It will start rolling out the deliveries by the first week of September. The hatchback rivals the likes of Tata PunchMaruti Suzuki SwiftRenault KigerNissan Magnite, and Maruti Suzuki Ignis.
